Gorgeous engraved sterling silver calling card wallet dating to march 17th 1904. Calling cards were very popular in the victorian era and were used by everyone to communicate between one another without words. Cards could have anywhere from ornate decoration and poetry to just a suitors name - something as simple as a card being folded on the left corner could have an unspoken meaning. Because of the importance of calling cards in within victorian social life and etiquette, calling card wallets were often ornate and held significant meaning to the owner.
