Tripp NYC was founded by Loatian American designer Daang Goodman in the East Village in 1985. Daang has an extensive knowledge of rock and roll history, and uses this to serve as inspiration in her designs. She and her husband Ray Goodman run the punk boutique mainstay Trash and Vaudeville, established in 1975, which carries the Tripp line in addition to other alternative designers. This dress is an early '90s Tripp piece that has a vibrant pop art interpretation of Mona Lisa that is reminiscent of Andy Warhol. The straps are clear plastic and similar to the classic "tattoo" necklaces of the 90s.
