It is mentioned in a 1973 Time Magazine article titled "Fashion is an Honest Sweater"

"There are many reasons for the new sweater enthusiasm. Selections in both color and style are wider than ever. In both London and New York, a big seller is the dolman (or batwing) version, which has long, wide sleeves growing out of its wide waistband. There are snug, armless sweater tubes and long sweater dresses. Many sweaters now sport knitted-in portraits of people or animals. Betsey Johnson's "ecology" line features trees and fish; Giorgio di Sant'Angelo portrays a plane taking off. Stan Herman's trompe l'oeil sweater dresses have fake belts and scarves knitted into the material. Others contrast jazzy colors, stripes and polka dots in dazzling juxtaposition. "Sweaters are completely different now," says Sant'Angelo. "We have these fabulous synthetic yarns and colors." Says Herman: "Sweaters are the only way to dress.""

  • Garment Care

All garments have been cleaned prior to arriving at your doorstep. We use biodegradable detergent and other methods of cleaning that are gentle on vintage and the earth. For garments that can stand water submersion, we recommend hand washing. If you have questions about how to launder a piece from our shop, please reach out.

  • Ensuring proper fit

Measurements for each garment are taken while it is lying flat. We provide an estimated modern size equivalent, however the best way to ensure proper fit is to measure either yourself or a similar garment in your wardrobe. Please reach out if you have questions on how to compare either measurements to ours.
