Paraphernalia boutique opened in NYC in 1965 and was a response to the growing youth movement happening in London. Young, up and coming designers such as Betsey Johnson and Michael Mott were employed to create fresh and outlandish fashions to attract a hip crowd. The opening party was hosted by Andy Warhol with the Velvet Underground playing a set. Fans of the boutique included Twiggy and Edie Sedwick. This Michael Mott designed dress is made from a soft crushed cotton velvet in a deep mossy green, with large faux pearls buttoning up the front. Its a fun play on a military silhouette!
