Charm bracelets rose in popularity during the 1940s due to WWII, where soldiers brought home trinkets in the from of charms for their sweethearts back home. This piece was produced by Norwegian designer Aksel Holmsen, and although it was not a sold as a souvenir, it capitalizes on the charm trend. It features a rainbow of enameled sterling hearts, another trend of the time, stamped with Aksel Holmsen signature and hangs on the original sterling chain.
