1930s Red Cotton Polka Dot Mini Dress
1930s Red Cotton Polka Dot Mini Dress
This dress was hand sewn in the Appalachian mountains in a North Carolina town called Mills River. We were lucky enough to connect with friends of the original owner and buy her collection of handmade garments. She was an avid seamstress who was active in her community and was making her own clothes from an early age.
The dress has a charming home-made quality to it. Tatted lace along the collar and sleeves, also hand done by her! Pockets on the front are faux. Hook and eye closure at the neckline as well as the side of the torso. Comes with a matching belt too!
Materials: Cotton
Condition: Some light fading, staining, and wear to the fabric.
Estimated modern size: I think this is a tween dress, but could work for a petite XXS. Waist measures 24 in.
Measurements (all measured flat):
Shoulder: 16 in
Chest: 15.5 in
Waist: 12 in
Length: 32 ini

Garment Care
All garments have been cleaned prior to arriving at your doorstep. We use biodegradable detergent and other methods of cleaning that are gentle on vintage and the earth. For garments that can stand water submersion, we recommend hand washing. If you have questions about how to launder a piece from our shop, please reach out.

Ensuring proper fit
Measurements for each garment are taken while it is lying flat. We provide an estimated modern size equivalent, however the best way to ensure proper fit is to measure either yourself or a similar garment in your wardrobe. Please reach out if you have questions on how to compare your measurements to ours.
