Circa the late 19th century, this hand appliqued wall hanging was made for tourists coming to Egypt during the "Egyptomania" craze that lasted from the 1880s through the 1930s. It includes it's four original Victorian era metal finials.
Condition: Overall remarkably good condition for it's age! An area of wear can be seen on the top from where it had been stored for a number of years with the metal hook pressed against the cloth. Only a small area of fabric deterioration on applique near the bottom. Expected yellowing to fabric from oxidation. Due to it's age, it is fragile and should be treated with care.
Measurements (all measured flat):
Width: 27.5 in
Height: 39 in
