Dickies started its life in 1918 in Fort Worth Texas as the US Overall Company - making bib and brace overalls for farm and ranch hands. By the 1920s the brand had been renamed to Williamson-Dickies Manufacturing Company, for each respective partner. They were a workwear brand from the beginning, and specialized in creating long lasting garments using techniques such as triple stitched seams and bar tacking. In the 1940s they were contracted to produce uniforms for the military, and after the war they stayed parallel to America's fast industrialization, creating workwear for any type of worker - from matching shirt and pant sets, coveralls, overalls, to jeans. These button fly jeans were likely produced during those post war years.
