1940s Pink Cotton Trench Coat
1940s Pink Cotton Trench Coat
This coat was hand sewn in the Appalachian mountains in a North Carolina town called Mills River. We were lucky enough to connect with friends of the original owner and buy her collection of handmade garments. She was an avid seamstress who was active in her community and was making her own clothes from an early age.
The salmon pink trench features marbled grey buttons as the front closure, they are hidden by a panel. The neck as an adjustable strap that allows the collar to be worn up or down. There are also two pockets. The level of detail in this piece is so special and it surely took her a great deal of skill and thoughtfulness to complete!

We provide an estimated modern size equivalent, however the best way to ensure proper fit is to measure either yourself or a similar garment in your wardrobe. Please reach out if you have questions on how to compare either measurements to ours.
